Who did not draw a HOUSE when they were a child?? It's the classic, best and also the easiest thing for us mere mortals to draw and as one of the many children who couldn't draw a la Caitlin Davies or Josh Schwelm (more on them another day and no Rachael I'm not copying you! :P) the only thing I continued to draw well was a house.
But the creativity didn't stop there.
Along with my twin sister Rachael, (name drop alert: her blog is strawberrytruths.blogspot.com -check it out but not until you've finished reading this post first!) we would draw the house as if the front wall was missing, like the inside of a doll's house where you could see every room.
With our pencils and pens we would design each room to the specifics of our won dream houses.
Over the years we
would do drafts of these for fun. We had our own Master bedrooms with walk in wardrobes of course, studies, a gym, a GIANT T.V on some occasions in our living room which you could sometimes reach by slide from my laboratory upstairs. We had pools outside and decorated bricks.
And of course, I had to have my own library.
I would still love a large room that ached with the weight of hardbacks and paperbacks to this day and tried to compile a small one in my old house but maybe one day I'll have a large one.
Besides a library, my dream house has changed a little bit since then, but I've found some images which I think sums up it up if still had a wish list...(if you are a contractor for building dream houses and would like to charge me little to no money for your services, let me know and below is your brief!)
By the way, I didn't create nor do I own any of these images!
The bookshelves that would be in every other room...

Ultimate cool way to relax at home with a good book.
http://bedzine.com/blog/bed-diy/weird-and-funny-bookshelves/ which has many weird but wonderful bookshelves, including my other two favourites; The Spider Bookshelf and Metamorphosis.
What girl would forget her compulsory walk-in wardrobe?
Now where is that dream house contractor?

I can't have loads of bookshelf men in my library, so I choose THESE storage methods instead...

Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure it moves like a hamster ball! |

Complete with some mannequins to keep my best outfits in shape for me!

Separate to the library, I would have a study. Minus all the people, this what it would look like, because I love animals and the sea. |

The wall would be painted to give the illusion of being outside.... |
And outside...

I love this photograph. I would decorate my house to look like this... Or this... |
After all that, I might just make everything tiny to make me feel like a giant.
